Building Disputes
Building contracts involve significant amounts of money requiring work to be carried out over an extended period of time and this frequently then raises issues involving disputes over delays in payment for work and/or the standard of workmanship.
Frequently, parties' rights are not only affected by written or verbal agreements but also the provisions of the Subcontractors Charges Act (Qld), the Domestic Building Contracts Act, the Queensland Building Services Authority Act or the Building and Construction Industry Payments Act (BCIPA).
The legal action a person takes and the timing of that legal action can substantively affect the outcome of a building dispute.
